And evening of experiment and challenge in the company of Japan-based Jesse Glass, Nick Thurston, Sarah Tremlett and Judy Kendall. Jesse Glass currently lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. His plays, poems, performance works, and fiction have appeared in a wide variety of journals and anthologies. In addition to his work as Publisher of Ahadada Books, Jesse Glass is a professor of Literature and History at Meikai University in Chiba, Japan. His writing employs a breath-taking range of voices and styles to explore the complexity beneath sensation and fact. Nick Thurston is one of the rising talents of conceptual poetry; his work demands both constant attention and detachment simultaneously during the reading. Sarah Tremlett is a media artist whose work integrates image and text developed from fixed lens observations of everyday life and construction the narrative of site. Judy Kendall's first collection of poetry, 'The Drier The Brighter', with Cinnamon Press in 2007 was nominated best first collection of 2007. Her second collection 'Joy Change', poems of Japan, due out next year, draws on her seven years of living in Japan. She has won several awards for her poems and is particularly interested in space, gaps, silence and visual text.
