DRIFT – Caroline Bergvall

@ @ The Met Arts Centre

Saturday 3 May at 8pm

Inspired by the language and themes of The Seafarer, an anonymous, 10th Century Anglo-Saxon poem, as well as official material from a recent and controversial sea migrants’ tragedy, DRIFT is a powerful and hypnotic performance, which takes you on a journey through time and place where languages mix and where live voice, live percussion and 3D texual projections conjure up the ancient with the present. A contemporary meditation on migrancy, exiles and sea-travel.

“Thank heaven for Caroline Bergvall, an artist and poet pushing the boundaries of language in a blogged-up and twittering digital world” - The Guardian
